Snowboarding can be one of the most fun hobbies to do, however, it can be incredibly dangerous and painful when or if you fall. As many snowboarders try to challenge themselves, they will attempt to do new tricks and go on harder terrain which can lead to a lot of injury’s which leads us to ways we can prevent those injuries. To start, a helmet is one of the most important gear you should wear when going snowboarding and goggles are also a very important piece of gear to have on too. Coming from my own experience as well, after falling countless amounts of times, my helmet has saved me from so much pain. With that being said, knee pads and wrists pads are also advised to many which will of course help with falls and prevent fractures from happening, however, I have not taken that precaution when I have gone snowboarding but I do still support it.
Even when taking many precautions with gear, what you wear to snowboarding is also very important. Of course, depending on how cold the weather is when riding, many layers are most likely needed. Personally for me, when I go snowboarding, I wear up to 3 top layers plus a good and warm pair of socks and gloves. If I am not wearing a very thick and waterproof jacket, I will most likely have 1 thick layer underneath, or 2 (not so thick) layers. though, if I am not wearing a large jacket, I will usually have 3 layers like I said before. As for the bottom half of clothing, a good pair of snow pants is able to help a lot, which for me and my friend, we will wear a pair of leggings underneath the snow pants for extra warmth.
